Welcome to the web page of Musician/Vocalist John Grubb.

John Grubb (Flash),  was originally born in Cleveland, Ohio but moved to Gallipolis, Ohio in the early 70’s. He has been playing Guitar since 1972. Some call him a compulsive musician as he has to always be playing something or playing somewhere.

John plays a wide variety of styles on several different instruments, sometimes at the same time.

He plays various styles of acoustic guitar such as Finger style, Flat-picking, bluegrass, Celtic, and “Old Time” music. On the Electric Guitars John’s solos are played at lightning speed. His first band gave him the nickname “Flash” due to the flash of his hands flowing across the neck weather using a pick, ebow or slide. John also plays keyboards, mandolin, fiddle, Banjo, Ukulele, Bass, Drums, lap and hammered Dulcimers.

He has written a few songs, all of which have received air play.

John’s vocal harmonizing ability comes from the many years early in his career when he was singing Gospel with his family, sometimes on live radio and T.V.

He has opened for the Charlie Daniels Band and many Professional Gospel Bands, his most recent for "The Isaacs" in spring of 2011. He has performed at many Fairs and Festivals all over the Midwest and East Coast.

He is currently playing Guitar, Mandolin, and Fiddle in an Irish band called Amhráin which is Irish for "Song" with the extremely talented musicians  John Hogan and Jason Burton.

Amhráin will be playing March 8th for a private dinner and March 17th around 7:00 P.M for the St. Patrick's Day Party at the Portsmouth Cafe and Pub in Portsmouth, Ohio.

John will doing a solo appearance at April 18th at the Portsmouth Cafe and Pub in Portsmouth, Ohio.

John has played with the gospel group "The Canterbury Family Singers" for the past 14 years at many Nursing Homes and Churches.
